Interesting thread. I havent been in large scale fleets, but ive been in small groups and alone. For some reason im loving the fights. Maybe because i dont get in a bad mood if i lose. I still smile when i get blown up since its nothing personal. The other guy was more skilled/experienced. Its not like he is better in every aspect of my life than me.
And oh, everybody doing pvp in a caracal should really try the fast minmatar frigates. They are incredibly fun and you have to move around not to get hit. I find caldari pvp boring as hell actually. So before you judge it, try another race.

Fun in the hunt? Nope can take forever to find your target and lock them down.
Fun in the fight? Nope. If your target is locked down you might as well be shooting an asteriod. Plus fights are never balanced.
Big fleet battles? Hell no. Sit around for what could be hours and then be a puppet for someone else once in combat.
Then if you are the loser, as there has to be in any competition, you spend possibly hours refitting.
So no I find pvp is lame. Takes too long to find a fight and then fights are onesided and thus stupidly short. Then one side has a long refitting process to look forward to. While the other has a nice long wait while looking for their next target.
Gate camping can be fast and regular combat, but unless in 0.0 most of what you get are noobs in starter ships which certainly isn't worth it in the way of a fun fight or in loot.
i couldnt said it better, you have the truth
No he doesnt. What if we inverse what he says?
- No hunting. Targets are everywhere to be found. - Fights are always balanced and fair. - Losing/winning doesnt matter at all. Both parties can go on to the next fight. - Fights takes longer to fight.
This sounds like duels to me, where both parties have the same ship and skills. Doesnt that sound boring?

Also, not sure if you know about missions, but level 4 missions have plenty of battleships to fight. Most of them will be MUCH harder than you could do in a vexor, so nice and challenging. You wouldn't have to face any gankers at all either.
This brings back memories of Worlds Collide where you get attacked by four 1.1m battleships firing torpedoes at you from like 120km. Very cool.

Anyways it had been a rush. I can vouch for that. But sitting on about ~100mio ISK a vexor is not so hard to lose. So in the end I just sighed because of the shopping around for modules and the ship. I won't bother with 0.0 and go on with missions. So for all who say I miss out on about 90% about EVE - well there are people who find the remaining 10% more interesting. :P (had not been in this thread though!)
You will probably get bored with missions since they are very much the same. Go to X, enable boosters and kill everything. Sometimes come back with Y. Its a grind, basicly, and i have no idea why people do it unless they want the standing. There are far better ways of making money if thats what you want.
